Scott Hayes, owner of Scott’s Shop, has always been passionate about car engines and has learned as much auto-related skills as he can in his lifetime. Never did he expect that a long-time passion would soon turn out to be his life-long commitment! He serviced various clients from around San Luis Obispo and later earned the trust of more customers from surrounding areas. From a small crew of neighborhood technicians, Scott’s Shop rose to the top as a premier auto repair shop composed of highly-qualified yet friendly mechanics. Our goal? I have over 40 years experience in the automotive industry, general automotive repairs, race car mechanic, engine machinist/builder and service advisor. I enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, camping and boogie boarding, and have always loved being cars. Raised in Southern California and moved to the central coast in 1989.

I started my format automotive career 12 years ago, but have been working on relatives vehicles since a young age. I am ASE certified, and working towards my master's. I enjoy diagnosing and repairing vehicles of all kinds. On weekends, you can find me watching my kids play sports or 4-wheeling.
